The app keeps track of what you already know – and shows you exactly what you are about to forget.
Anyone learning vocabulary or conjugation tends to make one of two mistakes. Either you repeat everything every day – which costs time and gets boring, because you keep practising things you have known for ages. Or you study hard once and then stop – and forget half of it within days.
The problem is not effort but timing: repetition pays off most when you are just about to forget something – not earlier and not later.
Every card has its own history. The more often you answer it correctly, the longer the app waits before showing it again. Here is how the intervals develop for a single card:
The intervals grow with every correct round – but only as far as you have earned. A mistake does not reset the card to zero, it simply brings it back into rotation sooner.
You never have to decide what to study today. Camaleón works that out from your previous answers – and only shows you cards where it is worth the effort right now.
Cards you have mastered turn up rarely. Cards you keep getting wrong come around more often. Over time you learn more efficiently: fewer repetitions for what you know, more focus on what still trips you up.
Do not worry about mistakes. They are not a setback – they are the signal the algorithm needs to bring a card back at the right moment.
